Place Makers Fund


The Place Makers Fund is a key part of the L&Q Foundation’s work to deliver their strategy. Led by the Successful Places team, the Place Makers Fund is looking to fund projects that help the L&Q Foundation deliver their aims, with a focus on Successful Places.

The Place Makers Fund priority areas are intended to ensure local communities who maybe struggling are able to access funding and continue to support and provide a vital service to vulnerable people in the community.

The L&Q priority areas are:  

  • Activities for older people
  • Education
  • Food poverty
  • Those defined as vulnerable
  • Health & well-being programme
  • Opportunities for young people

Place Makers Growth

  • Place Makers Growth fund has closed for this year. 


Place Makers Local

  • You can apply for up to £10k – please note, you can only apply for a maximum of 40% of your organisation’s annual income (e.g. if your last recorded annual income is £20,000, you would be eligible to apply for a maximum of £8,000).
  • applications within London
  • applications need to be consistent with 1 or more priority areas
  • applications need to benefit L&Q residents and the wider community
  • there is a rolling monthly deadline. The project may commence 2 months after the submission deadline (submission deadlines fall on the 1st of each month, e.g. 1st November 2022) at the earliest


Place Makers Counties

  • You can apply for up to £10k - please note, you can only apply for a maximum of 40% of your organisation’s annual income (e.g. if your last recorded annual income is £20,000, you would be eligible to apply for a maximum of £8,000).
  • applications to Home Counties (includes: Bedford, Chelmsford, Milton Keynes, St Neots, Stratford Upon Avon and Warwick).
  • applications need to be consistent with 1 or more priority areas
  • applications need to benefit L&Q residents and the wider community
  • there is a rolling monthly deadline. The project may commence 2 months after the submission deadline (submission deadlines fall on the 1st of each month, e.g. 1st November 2022) at the earliest
